Learn to memorise Surah Al Qadr - Night of Power

Lailat al Qadr: The Night of Power

Lailat al Qadr, the Night of Power, marks the night in which the Qur’an was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) by Allah.

Muslims regard this as the most important event in history, and the Qur’an says that this night is better than a thousand months (97:3), and that on this night the angels descend to earth.

This is a time that Muslims spend in study and prayer. Some will spend the whole night in prayer or in reciting the Qur’an.

Lailat al Qadr is a good time to ask for forgiveness. Allah’s Apostle said…

“Whoever establishes the prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards (not to show off) then all his past sins will be forgiven.”
(Bukhari Vol 1, Book 2: 34)

The date of 27 Ramadan for this day is a traditional date, as the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did not mention when the Night of Power would be, although it was suggested it was one of the odd days in the last 10 days of the month.

Because of this, many Muslims will treat the last 10 days of the month of Ramadan as a particularly good time for prayer and reading the Qur’an.

Welcome to the Mount Hira blog

Asalaamu alaikum & Greetings

ayat al kursi, ayatul kursi, download ayat kursiWelcome to the First Mount Hira Blog. We thought we'd create a blog; a way to reach out to you and get you involved with our latest news, updates, website fixes etc. if you have any comments/ideas or you find an error on our website, please do not hesitate to contact us as it will help us to improve our services.

In case you haven't heard of us before; we are just two ordinary guys who started off by trying to learn Ayat Al-Kursi off by heart. We sat down and thought about how we could learn the ayah with ease and having backgrounds in marketing and computing, we thought we'd use the knowledge of our past to create a tool. The outcome was a tutorial in which the ayah was split up into segements with audio in arabic, the arabic text, the english translation and the transliteration; the ultimate tool to memorise the ayah with ease.

Basically, this tutorial (as we refer it to), begins with giving you an overview of
Ayat Al-Kursi followed by the step by step memorisation, ending with a replay of the ayah and a summary. Since this method worked for us, we thought we'd make it available online to help others memorising this ayah using the same methods we used.

We are now applying this method to memorise the Quran. we've already developed tutorials for Surah Al-Fatihah, The Four Quls (Al-Kafiroun, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas), Surah Al-Masad, Surah An-Nasr and Surah Al-Qadr. We are continously uploading more tutorials and making them available as soon as possible.

Our website can be found on mounthira.com and is available for everyone to use. If you have any questions/comments/ideas, please let us know as we will be more than happy to listen wa salaam alaikum
