Welcome to the Mount Hira blog

Asalaamu alaikum & Greetings

ayat al kursi, ayatul kursi, download ayat kursiWelcome to the First Mount Hira Blog. We thought we'd create a blog; a way to reach out to you and get you involved with our latest news, updates, website fixes etc. if you have any comments/ideas or you find an error on our website, please do not hesitate to contact us as it will help us to improve our services.

In case you haven't heard of us before; we are just two ordinary guys who started off by trying to learn Ayat Al-Kursi off by heart. We sat down and thought about how we could learn the ayah with ease and having backgrounds in marketing and computing, we thought we'd use the knowledge of our past to create a tool. The outcome was a tutorial in which the ayah was split up into segements with audio in arabic, the arabic text, the english translation and the transliteration; the ultimate tool to memorise the ayah with ease.

Basically, this tutorial (as we refer it to), begins with giving you an overview of
Ayat Al-Kursi followed by the step by step memorisation, ending with a replay of the ayah and a summary. Since this method worked for us, we thought we'd make it available online to help others memorising this ayah using the same methods we used.

We are now applying this method to memorise the Quran. we've already developed tutorials for Surah Al-Fatihah, The Four Quls (Al-Kafiroun, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas), Surah Al-Masad, Surah An-Nasr and Surah Al-Qadr. We are continously uploading more tutorials and making them available as soon as possible.

Our website can be found on mounthira.com and is available for everyone to use. If you have any questions/comments/ideas, please let us know as we will be more than happy to listen wa salaam alaikum

Hi gentlemen,
Excellent work!
Thank you for empowering others to learn surahs. Can I suggest that you include the name of the person reading the Surah. Another project that you could perhaps do, is a tutorial on the 99 names of Allah?

Ramadan Mubarak..

AssalaamuAlaikum,

Masha'Allah this is truly a brilliant site. Easy method for memorizing surah's. I was wondering if you could please do a course for Surah Mulk, as i am wanting to learn this. As you may know the benefit of memorizing and reading this Surah regularly in Salah and at night, it will protect us from the torment of the grave InshaAllah.

Jazaka'Allah Khair.

Salam walaikum,
This website is amazing, Alhumdulillah.

I have a request-
Could you please add a repeat feature onto the recitation? It would be very beneficial to those of us who are learning to memorize, to be able to listen to one line on continuous play rather than clicking on the repeat button after each line. This way, if I step away from the computer, I can still have the entire surah or just one line of the surah on play if there was a repeat function available. Or I can leave it on play while I go to sleep.

I also read through some good comments left by others, such as including recitation of namaz, ability to download, and also the name of the reciter.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing more surahs on this website.

excellent work. the following additions will be make the site of the greatest

1. i feel availability of more sura
2. putting the suras in a format that allows downloading or copying into word
3. want to know if there are female reciters of suras

At 10:12 pm, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Others have mentioned it, but putting the names of the reciters, placing a salutation at the end of the ayat, and keeping up the great work. I look forward to seeing the whole Quran on your site.

Salaam. I came across your website the other night as I was trying to find a transliteration for the Ayatul Qursi. I am in the same boat you guys were when you started this site--I am trying to memorize the Ayatul Qursi. I love what I've seen here so far. It's very user friendly and has everything we need to learn a sura. It is especially helpful for those of us who do not know how to read Arabic yet. Thanks for a great job. I will definitely be coming back for more inshallah. Salaam.

Firstly I would like to congratulate you for your success in this website as it helped me perfect my reading and memory of Ayat Al-Kursi. I would also like to know if you have lessons on learning how to read the Qur’an and if the brother that recites Ayat Al-Kursi on your website has a tape reciting the whole Qur’an.

May Allah reward all your efforts in abundance and grant you success upon your website, amine.

As Salaamu Alaikum WR WB, what a wonderful site you have! Putting your worldly skills to such use surely will bring you great rewards, Insha'Allah. As i read over the comments, one thing jumps out, we all want to have more of Mishary Rashid Alafasy's recitations, where did you get them? Are they availably anywhere else so that I can soak up his recitations in their entirety?
My 17 year old son, who can recite Qur'an but not well, perked up his ears when he heard me listening to your site, going 'Humm, very special Mom.' We live in a country where Qur'an recitation is valued highly, but this recitation is primo and bagus! (excellent and very good. Wa Salaam, Sister Fatari

great site: simple yet great concept and usability. nice excellent clean website graphics and layout. (but the swf layout, less so)

as for the features/functionality, great start. I have some suggestions if you dont mind?

- the option to run through the verses continuously at the beginning also, this would be like a 'preview' just like it does afterwards as a 'review'

- repetition of verses e.g. 3 times
- repetition of a set of verses
- make available to use offline

Asalaamu Alaikum,

May Allah reward all who have worked on this site, and reward them with the rewards of those of us who benefit from this site without lessening our reward, insha'Allah.

To quote from a translation of al-Ghazali -

"[As to the evidence of the excellence of teaching] in tradition, the Apostle of Allah, on sending Mu`adh[58][58] to al-Yaman, said to him, “That, through you, Allah may lead one man [unto Himself] is better for you than the world and all that is in it.”[59][59] He also said, “Whoever acquires but one section of knowledge in order to teach men, will be given the reward of seventy of the righteous.” Jesus said, “He who has knowledge and shall do and teach, the same shall be called great [9] in the Kingdom of Heaven.”[60][60] The Prophet said, "When on the day of resurrection Allah says unto the worshippers and the warriors, ‘Enter ye into Paradise’, the learned would say, ‘By virtue of our learning have they attained their piety and fought for Thee’. Then Allah would say unto them, ‘I regard you alike with my angels: intercede and you will have your intercessions accepted.’ They then would present their intercessions and enter into Paradise.”

And Allah knows best.

May Allah make this ongoing project easy for you, and may you see its many many rewards on the Day of Judgment.

Asalaamu alaikum!

I noticed that there are some Arabic script typos in some Surahs. Here is the list -

1. Surah Yasin, Part 1, Page 2/12, line 4
"ala-siratim-musta-qeem" is incorrect in arabic script "zeyr" is missing.
2. Surah Al'Moun, Page 2/11, line 4
"fawaylul-lil-musalleen" is incorrect in arabic script.

i really appreciated this website, i even send the link to my friends, this is not a simple memorization, but indeed an internalization of the meaning of an ayah.

anyways, can u add more of the supplications and more surah's too,

i've read this in one book, it says, when u pray, i mean u are doing ur salah, u are actually talking to ALLAH SWT, and when u read Qur'an ALLAH SWT is talking to u, so i think, through these efforts of urs, for a people like me, who is not good in arabic, u are making it more easier for us, to communicate to ALLAH SWT, our CREATOR.

I hope to add your link to my website and litterally spread the word. May Allah be kind and generous to you in his reward for helping so many new and existing Muslims. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you, thank you, thank you. It gives me light in my heart to know that there are real Muslims out there that honestly care and want to genuinely help. Islam is truly the works of Allah. Peace & Blessings to you all.

Assalamo Ailkum.
This site is very good. At last a way of learning Surahs by heart. It would be wonderful if it were possible to download to MP3, as then one could learn when travelling, lunch breaks at work etc. It would also be good if Namaaz could be put on in a very simple way eg.When one stands what should be recited, when one bends in Rukhu what should be recited etc. Namaaz can be very difficult for a new convert to learn.I especially like the reading of Surah Fathia.
May Allah help you with your good work.
ay Allah's blessings be on you.
